Ericsson RAN Design & Optimization Expert (5G/LTE)

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer with strong RAN design, optimization, and planning expertise to support large-scale wireless deployments across the U.S. This role requires deep experience in 5G NR, LTE, and multi-vendor environments, along with proven leadership in managing complex, high-impact telecom projects.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end RAN design, optimization, and tuning for LTE and 5G networksDrive large-scale projects (metro/statewide) as technical leadPerform radio network planning using tools like Planet EV and AtollConduct drive test analysis and optimization using TEMS, Actix, etc.Analyze and improve KPIs:AccessibilityRetainabilityHandover success rateOptimize parameters, features, and configurations for performance improvementsPerform Monte Carlo simulations and model tuningEvaluate link budgets and propose new site deploymentsWork with Layer 3 messaging (LTE/5G) for troubleshootingSupport 5G features (Massive MIMO, mmWave, CBRS, LAA, IoT)Recommend improvements and identify network expansion opportunitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams and customer stakeholdersRequired Qualifications10+ years of experience in RAN design, optimization, or implementationBachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalentProven leadership on 5+ projects, including 2 large-scale deploymentsStrong expertise in:5G NR / LTE / CBRS / mmWave / Massive MIMOPlanning tools: Atoll, Planet EVOptimization tools: TEMS, Actix, Agilent, R&SDeep understanding of:Link budget & RF planningLayer 3 signaling (LTE/5G)IRAT proceduresACP (Automatic Cell Planning)Monte Carlo analysisHands-on experience with Ericsson ENMStrong KPI analysis and performance tuning skillsAdditional SkillsStrong communication & stakeholder managementAbility to work independently and lead technical initiativesWillingness to travel extensively within the U.S.Proficiency in MS OfficeWe are Connectors.
