Title: Assistant Project Manager (HVAC)Location: Farmingdale, NYIndustry: HVACSalary Range: $65,000 - $80,000About the RoleWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our growing operations team. This hybrid role combines project coordination with job costing responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who understands both field operations and construction accounting. You'll support multiple HVAC or construction projects, helping ensure they run on time, on budget, and with accurate financial tracking.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management SupportAssist Project Managers with daily project coordination and documentationTrack project schedules, budgets, and change ordersCommunicate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project executionManage submittals, RFIs, and closeout documentationHelp coordinate material deliveries and field operationsJob Costing & AccountingSet up and maintain job cost codes and budgets in the accounting systemTrack and reconcile costs, labor hours, purchase orders, and subcontractor invoicesAssist in preparing monthly job cost reports and forecastsMonitor billing schedules and support preparation of AIA billings and progress billingsWork closely with the accounting department to ensure accurate revenue recognition and project profitabilityQualifications2-5 years of experience in HVAC, mechanical contracting, or general constructionExperience in both project coordination and job cost accountingFamiliarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Sage 300 CRE, Foundation, or similar)Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project tracking toolsExcellent organizational and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environmentBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Accounting, Business, or related field preferred
