Insight Global's client is seeking a detail-oriented Freight Biller to support daily billing and accounts payable operations within a transportation and intermodal environment. This role will split time evenly between billing/invoicing and accounts payable, working closely with a small, focused accounting team. The ideal candidate is comfortable multitasking, understands transportation terminology, and can manage both sides of the billing process with accuracy and efficiency.Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesBilling & Invoicing (Approximately 4 hours/day)Generate, review, and process freight invoices for employee-driven transportation servicesValidate billing details such as rates, mileage, accessorial charges, and service types using intermodal and transportation terminologyEnsure invoices align with load information, agreements, and internal documentation prior to submissionResolve invoice discrepancies by researching billing details and collaborating with internal stakeholdersMaintain organized billing records and ensure timely and accurate invoicing cyclesSupport billing for employee drivers (no owner-operators), with exposure to 3PL billing as neededAccounts Payable (Approximately 4 hours/day)Process vendor invoices and assist with accounts payable workflow, including verification and data entryMatch invoices to purchase orders or internal documentation as requiredAssist with payment preparation and reconciliationCommunicate with vendors and internal teams to resolve payment or invoice issuesMaintain AP documentation and support clean, audit-ready recordsGeneral ResponsibilitiesWork closely with one billing associate and one AP associate in a quiet, focused office environmentBalance multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting daily and weekly deadlinesMaintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced billing environmentFollow established processes while identifying opportunities to improve workflow efficiencyMust-Have Qualifications2+ years of relevant billing or invoicing experience (minimum 1 year required)Prior experience working in transportation or intermodal environments, including industry terminologyStrong understanding of both billing and accounts payable processesAbility to multitask and work independently in a structured, low-distraction settingNice-to-Have QualificationsExperience with Microsoft Dynamics GP, particularly purchasing modulesBackground billing for employee drivers with company-owned trucksExposure to 3PL billingPrior leadership or mentorship experience within accounting or billing teams
