Today, the COOP is in the midst of an exciting transformation"”reimagining its role not just as a retailer, but as a platform for connection, community, and engagement across Harvard, MIT, and the neighborhoods they call home.About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced E-Commerce Manager to lead the performance and day-to-day operations of our online business. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, optimizing the customer experience, and ensuring seamless execution across our digital storefront.This is a critical leadership position that will own the digital P&L and play a key role in scaling our online business to the next level.Key ResponsibilitiesDigital Store Operations & ExperienceOversee the day-to-day management of our e-commerce platform (Shopify), ensuring site functionality, uptime, and performanceContinuously optimize the customer journey, navigation, and overall user experiencePartner with developers or agencies to implement site enhancements and improvementsMerchandising & Product ManagementManage product assortment, categorization, and on-site merchandising strategyOversee product launches, ensuring accurate setup, pricing, imagery, and descriptionsExecute promotional campaigns, seasonal updates, and homepage refreshesAnalyze product performance and optimize assortment based on dataPerformance & AnalyticsMonitor and report on key performance indicators including conversion rate, average order value (AOV), traffic, and revenueIdentify opportunities to improve conversion and drive incremental salesDevelop forecasts and track performance against business goalsLeverage data to inform decision-making across merchandising, pricing, and promotionsCross-Functional CoordinationCollaborate closely with marketing to align on campaigns, traffic-driving initiatives, and promotional calendarsPartner with fulfillment and operations teams to ensure accurate inventory, timely shipping, and strong customer experienceServe as the central point of coordination between internal teams and external partnersGrowth & OptimizationContinuously test and optimize site performance (CRO), including landing pages, product pages, and checkout flowIdentify opportunities to expand product offerings and improve pricing strategiesSupport SEO and on-site search optimization effortsQualifications4-7+ years of experience in e-commerce, digital retail, or direct-to-consumer (DTC) businessesHands-on experience managing platforms such as Shopify, Klaviyo, SKUlabStrong understanding of digital merchandising, customer experience, and online retail operationsProven ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable strategiesExperience managing product catalogs, promotions, and site contentFamiliarity with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Shopify analytics, etc.)Excellent organizational and project management skillsStrong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionallyPreferred QualificationsBackground in retail merchandising or consumer productsExperience scaling an e-commerce business in the $1M-$5M revenue rangeFamiliarity with SEO, email marketing, and performance marketing conceptsWhat We're Looking ForA strategic thinker who can also execute at a detailed levelA strong operator who thrives in a fast-paced, growing environmentSomeone who understands both the art and science of digital retailA results-driven leader focused on growth, efficiency, and customer experienceWhy Join UsThis is an opportunity to take ownership of a growing digital business and play a key role in shaping its future.
