Customer Service Representative (Manufacturing)Auburn Hills, MIAbout the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Customer Service Representative (CSR / Admin) to support accounts related to the international transportation of goods. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating shipments, supporting client needs, and ensuring seamless communication between customers, carriers, and internal teams.What You'll DoPartner with clients to develop detailed profiles and procedures aligned with their export/import processesCoordinate shipments by evaluating routes, rates, and delivery timelines; dispatch to carriers accordinglyVerify shipments by reviewing bills of lading, reconciling quantities, and identifying discrepanciesServe as a primary point of contactfor customers, providing shipment updates and resolving inquiriesAnalyze and benchmark freight rates to identify cost efficienciesNegotiate rate structures, including consolidation lanes and capacity planning; present recommendations to managementMonitor carrier performance and service issues; generate clear, data-driven reportsPerform freight forwarding functions, including booking shipments and issuing delivery ordersTrack and confirm order status for pickups and deliveriesReview and analyze freight bills to ensure accuracy and customer-specific complianceMaintain accurate shipment and account records in internal systemsCoordinate and expedite time-sensitive shipments and special requestsTraining & DevelopmentParticipate in ongoing training to build industry knowledge and professional skillsReview and respond to internal communications and updatesFollow established quality procedures and standardsContribute to continuous improvement initiativesWhat We're Looking ForStrong customer service and client relationship skillsExcellent communication skills (written and verbal) with professional phone etiquetteAbility to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environmentStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesHigh attention to detail and organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially ExcelComfortable communicating with customers via phone and emailTeam-oriented mindset with a proactive approachQualificationsAssociate degree (2-year) or equivalent relevant work experienceAbility to work in an office environment and lift up to 20 pounds
