DescriptionWatershed Consulting is seeking a Water Resources Scientist to join our team of talented professionals specializing in stormwater management planning and design, water quality investigations, and geospatial mapping and analysis. Our team consists of hydrologists, water quality scientists, engineers, and GIS professionals that provide our federal, state, municipal, nonprofit, and private sector clients with a collaborative and innovative approach to solving water quality issues. The Water Resources Scientist will support a broad range of initiatives related to water quality planning, monitoring, modeling, analysis, design, and permitting.ResponsibilitiesProvide support for watershed and stormwater management planning, modeling, design, and permittingPerform fieldwork to support water quality research, design, monitoring, sampling, and complianceOrganize, maintain, and schedule field monitoring and sampling equipmentPerform Geographic Information System mapping and analysisPrepare technical reports and presentationsPreferred Skills and CompetenciesUnderstanding of concepts related to hydrology, water resources planning, water quality, and environmental statisticsExperience in utilizing Geographic Information Systems for mapping and analysisFamiliarity with Vermont stormwater regulatory frameworkFamiliarity with Vermont clean water initiative non regulatory frameworkFamiliarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysisDesire and ability to work outdoors in a range of weather conditions and in varied terrainExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsExcellent critical thinking, analytical, and technical writing skillsExcellent interpersonal skills and desire to work in a collaborative team environmentEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related Geoscience field. 1+ years professional experience within a water resources field preferred.Benefits & CompensationWatershed Consulting offers a competitive salary based on qualifications and experience, a comprehensive benefits package, as well as opportunities for professional development and advancement.
