2nd Shift Manufacturing Supervisor (CNC Machining)Full-Time | On-Site | 2nd ShiftWe are partnering with a growing, high-performance contract manufacturer to identify a 2nd Shift Manufacturing Supervisor to lead CNC machining operations in a fast-paced, high-mix, tight-tolerance environment.This is a great leadership role for someone who thrives on the shop floor, drives accountability, and knows how to get results through people, process, and performance.Position OverviewThe 2nd Shift Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for leading all machining operations during second shift, ensuring production goals are met across safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This individual will oversee CNC machining teams, drive continuous improvement, and partner cross-functionally to maintain operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Operations LeadershipLead all second-shift CNC machining operations including mills, lathes, and multi-axis equipmentExecute production schedules to ensure on-time deliveryMonitor key metrics such as OTD, labor efficiency, machine utilization, and scrap ratesIdentify and resolve bottlenecks, staffing challenges, and material/tooling issuesEnsure proper setup verification and in-process quality checksTeam Leadership & DevelopmentSupervise, coach, and develop machinists, setup techs, and support staffDrive accountability to performance, safety, and quality standardsLead shift start-up meetings and communicate priorities clearlyIdentify skill gaps and support cross-training initiativesFoster a culture of ownership, professionalism, and continuous improvementQuality & ComplianceEnsure adherence to ISO standards and customer requirementsLead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issuesMaintain accurate production and inspection documentationSafety LeadershipEnforce all safety protocols and OSHA complianceConduct safety observations and lead incident investigationsPromote safe handling of materials, tooling, and equipmentContinuous ImprovementDrive initiatives to reduce scrap, improve cycle times, and increase uptimeSupport lean manufacturing and process optimization effortsRecommend tooling, equipment, and workflow improvementsQualificationsRequired5+ years of leadership experience in CNC machining environmentsStrong background in manufacturing operations and shop floor leadershipProven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-accountability environmentExcellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skillsPreferredMachine shop background strongly preferredCNC machining expertise highly preferredBachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field preferred10+ years of CNC or manufacturing leadership experienceWork Environment & Physical RequirementsActive shop floor environment requiring standing, walking, and occasional liftingAbility to read technical documents, blueprints, and production instructionsStrong communication skills with team members across functionsWhy This Opportunity?High-impact leadership role with visibility across operationsOpportunity to drive real change and continuous improvementStable, growth-oriented manufacturing environmentStrong team culture focused on accountability and results
