Job Description

This role is responsible for producing high-quality 3D models and detailed drawings using CATIA V5 (R21+) to support aerospace design and manufacturing efforts. The individual will work closely with Project and Manufacturing Engineers, managing complex part and assembly designs while ensuring manufacturability, accuracy, and compliance with configuration and GD&T standards. This position plays a key role throughout the design lifecycle"”from concept through production support"”within engine- and vehicle-level DMU environments.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalentMinimum 4+ years of aerospace design and drafting experienceAdvanced proficiency in CATIA V5, including complex solids, surfaces, assemblies, and parameterized modelsStrong working knowledge of manufacturing methods (sheet metal forming, subtractive and additive manufacturing)Experience working within PLM systems (3DX) and configuration management practicesAbility to create 2D drawings, 3D PDFs, MBD (FTA workbench), and assembly BOMsSolid understanding and application of GD&T per ASME Y14.5 (2018 preferred, 2009 acceptable)Experience performing tolerance stack-ups, interference checks, weight calculations, and design reviewsStrong communication skills to support shops, vendors, and cross-functional engineering teamsMaster's degree, CATIA V5 coursework, 4,000+ CATIA hours, or ASME Y14.5 certification are strong plusesWhy This RoleTechnically advanced CATIA environment working on complex aerospace assembliesEnd-to-end design involvement, from modeling and detailing through manufacturing supportExposure to engine and vehicle-level DMU systems, not just isolated componentsLow travel requirement (less than 5%) with stable, on-site engineering collaborationOpportunity to mentor and review designs, contributing to engineering quality standardsEmphasis on precision, manufacturability, and continuous improvement
