Senior Scrum Master

A well-known Financial Services Company is looking for a Senior Scrum Master with release management in Charlotte, NC (Hybrid).The Scrum Master is responsible for driving disciplined Agile execution with a strong emphasis on SDLC rigor and release management. This role goes beyond facilitation and coaching; it requires deep understanding of end-to-end software delivery, release orchestration, and operational readiness within enterprise financial systems.This position is ideal for a Scrum Master who has operated within complex SDLC environments and has hands-on experience managing releases, dependencies, and production readiness. Candidates with solely lightweight Agile facilitation experience and limited SDLC or release exposure are not a fit for this role.This role requires a delivery leader who understands how software is built, released, supported, and governed in a high-stakes financial environment.Contract Duration: 2-years to startKey Responsibilities:Agile Leadership & DeliveryServe as Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams, ensuring consistent execution and delivery of committed sprint goals.Facilitate Scrum ceremonies that drive decisions, accountability, and continuous improvement.Coach teams and Product Owners using delivery metrics, flow analysis, and data-driven insights.Ensure sprint outcomes deliver incremental business or customer value aligned to finance outcomes.SDLC & Release Management (Core Focus)Apply strong working knowledge of the full SDLC, from intake and planning through build, test, release, and post-production support.Manage and coordinate release planning, timelines, dependencies, risks, and cutovers across multiple teams.Ensure operational readiness for releases, including:Non-functional requirements (NFRs)Monitoring and alertingRunbooks and operational documentationKnowledge transfer to L1/L2 support teamsDrive release cadence discipline, escalation management, and stakeholder communications.Partner with engineering teams to promote modern delivery practices such as CI/CD and automation.Jira, Metrics & TransparencyMaintain strong Jira hygiene, including accurate work capture, status reporting, dependency tracking, and capacity planning.Improve backlog readiness, flow efficiency, and execution effectiveness.Produce dashboards and reports that provide transparency into delivery health, forecasting, and financial accuracy.Identify cross-team dependencies and blockers early and track them through resolution.Stakeholder CollaborationBuild strong partnerships with Product, Engineering, Finance Technology stakeholders, and L1/L2 support teams.Facilitate Scrum of Scrums and multi-team coordination forums.Communicate proactively and clearly with stakeholders, ensuring alignment and informed decision-making.Participate in Agile Communities of Practice and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.Required QualificationsStrong SDLC and release management background within enterprise technology environments.Demonstrated experience managing releases in regulated or risk-sensitive environments.Proven Scrum Master experience supporting complex delivery, not just Agile ceremony facilitation.CSM or PSM certification required.Advanced proficiency with Jira for Agile delivery management, reporting, and forecasting.Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting Controllers, Treasury, Finance, Risk, or Audit technology platforms.Background in banking or financial services technology environments.Experience working with investment management or finance platforms such as SimCorp.
