Position: Paint Process Engineer (Paint Process Systems)Duration: 2 year Contract-to-HireLocationRochester Hills, MITravel: ~80% (local + international)MUST HAVESWillingness and ability to travel extensively (~80%) including international travelBachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience)Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilitiesStrong communication skills and ability to interface with customers and internal teamsAbility to work independently and take ownership/lead on assignmentsStrong computer skills, including Microsoft ExcelValid passportPLUSESPaint process engineering experienceFANUC robot experienceFluid delivery systems experience (highly preferred)PaintPRO experienceExperience with FANUC paint robots and paint robot programmingDAY-TO-DAY / RESPONSIBILITIESThe Paint Process Engineer supports the client's Paint Process Engineering Department by designing, testing, implementing, and supporting robotic paint systems for customer applications.Paint Process Engineering & ExecutionProgram robots using PaintPRO and offline simulation tools (ROBOGUIDE / PaintPRO)Perform robot program design, robot programming, and spray application engineeringInstall, launch, and optimize robot programs at customer sitesRun spray trials, lab testing, and customer demonstrationsTroubleshoot paint lab issues and existing customer installationsData Analysis & ReportingAnalyze paint and process data using Microsoft ExcelSet up, organize, and interpret data sets to support process optimizationRecord and interpret paint quality data (film build, defects, color/quality)Robotics & Equipment IntegrationPerform hands-on robot setup using teach pendantsOptimize integration of application equipment, including bells and fluid delivery systemsSupport system verification testing at build sites and customer facilitiesProject & Team CollaborationInterface with internal project teams and customers to execute jobsCoordinate with other FANUC engineers during installationsProvide technical support and troubleshooting throughout project lifecycleDeliver progress updates to management as required
