With an in-house licensing and art team, IML ensures top-tier representation of its properties, incorporating industry-leading artwork and the latest trends into its designs.Report to the Design Director to execute apparel design for French Connection Womens Fashion Separates, Dresses, Athleisure & Lounge for club outlets and off-price retailers.Research market in-store and online for trends, key items, fabrics/yarns, and competitive landscape.Develop overall design intent and category direction for the seasonal collections.Attend fittings and provide direction for fit and silhouette to tech department.Execute flat sketching and cads. As well as jump in to execute tech packs for costing & development when necessary.Communicate with PD department and overseas sample room to request fabric sourcing, sample development and costingEnsure projects and showroom samples are delivered on time and align with product development calendar.Provide direction for Associate Designers, Technical Designers, and Freelancers to execute sketching, tech packs, cads, sample requests and production approvals.Provide Art Direction to Team artist to create prints, stripes, patterns and graphics for the season.Mentor Junior Designers in all aspects of the design process.Develop collaborative relationships with all internal departments including Sales, PD, Sourcing, Production and Tech.Develop solid understanding of IML's product development process and identify opportunities for process improvement and more effective SOPs.
