Senior Accountant

A growing, multi-entity consumer products and distribution organization is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join its finance and accounting team. This role offers broad exposure across financial reporting, inventory accounting, operational finance, and month-end close within a fast-paced environment.The ideal candidate will have strong general accounting experience, a hands-on approach, and the ability to operate independently while partnering cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and leadership teams.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy, compliance with GAAP, and timely reportingManage general ledger activity, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and account analysisSupport month-end and year-end close processes across multiple operational areasPerform inventory accounting and reconciliations, including inventory valuation and cost analysisAnalyze cost of goods sold, operational expenses, freight, and distribution-related costs to support profitability analysisReconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable activity and assist with discrepancy resolutionPartner with internal and external auditors by preparing schedules and supporting documentationAssist with tax-related reporting and compliance requirements, including sales and use tax supportParticipate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activitiesEnsure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and financial proceduresProvide financial analysis and reporting to support operational and strategic decision-makingCollaborate cross-functionally with operations, purchasing, logistics, and leadership teamsIdentify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and increased efficiency within accounting workflowsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field2-5+ years of accounting experience preferredStrong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end closeExperience with inventory and cost accounting is highly preferredAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detailAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills requiredExperience with ERP systems and accounting software preferredExcellent communication and organizational skillsCPA or progress toward certification is a plus
