Job Purpose:We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Business Development Representative to join our growing team in the solar sector. As a BDR, your primary responsibility will be to identify and develop new business opportunities, fostering relationships with potential clients, and creating a pipeline for the sales team. If you're passionate about renewable energy, business development, and sustainability, this is a fantastic opportunity to kickstart your career in renewables.Job Responsibilities:Research and identify potential clients in the solar industryEngage with leads through cold calling, emails, in person office visits and networking events/tradeshowsQualify leads based on their needs, business type (ideally EPC, owner, developer, financer, etc.), and timeline of procurementMaintain a high level of knowledge about the company's products, services, and the solar industry in general to effectively educate prospectsStay up to date on industry trends, competitors, and market demandsDevelop initial rapport with potential clients and build trust through regular follow-ups, communications and in-person interactionsInvolve senior sales team members to assist in conducting in-depth consultations or project conversationsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (preferred)1-2 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field; experience in the solar energy or renewable energy industry is desired, but not requiredCommitted to understanding the commercial and industrial, utility and energy storage solar marketExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levelsStrong research skills and the ability to identify key decision-makers within potential client organizationsFamiliarity with CRM tools (Salesforce) and proficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteSelf-starter with a results-driven attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a teamHunter vs. Farmer mentalityAdaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong work ethic, integrity, and a desire to grow within a companyWorking EnvironmentThis is a remote position however you MUST be based in TX and 50-75% travel to meet with customers and attend expos and trade shows.
