Job Description: NVIDIA - Safety Operations Manager (Autonomous Vehicles) - Santa Clara CA The Autonomous Vehicle Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing safety compliance, incident management, and risk mitigation across NVIDIA's Autonomous Vehicle project operations. This role ensures all field activities adhere to NVIDIA-defined safety standards and applicable regulatory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and continuously improve Safety Management Systems (SMS) across AV field operationsDevelop and enforce safety policies aligned with NVIDIA AV requirements and industry best practicesMonitor, analyze, and report on safety performance metrics, KPIs, and incident trendsBuild and maintain safety dashboards to track leading and lagging indicatorsLead incident investigations, root-cause analyses, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)Oversee regulatory reporting and compliance, including DMV, NHTSA, and other applicable agenciesPartner with Driver Coordinators to reinforce field-level safety adherence and accountabilitySupport driver qualification, defensive driving programs, and ongoing safety training initiativesPrepare and deliver safety reporting for weekly reviews, operational readouts, and QBRsConduct proactive risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies across active deploymentsQualifications5+ years of experience in safety management within transportation, autonomous vehicles, logistics, or field operationsDemonstrated experience building and managing Safety Management Systems (SMS)Strong experience with KPI development, dashboard creation, and performance trackingWorking knowledge of DMV, NHTSA, and regulatory safety reporting requirementsStrong understanding of safety governance models, incident response frameworks, and regulatory complianceExperience supporting multi-location or highly mobile workforcesAbility to translate complex safety data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders
