About the job:Akkodis is seeking an Electro-Mechanical (EMech) Engineer for a contract role in Naperville, IL. This position will support engineering teams with hands-on fabrication, prototype builds, and mechanical assembly in a lab/shop environment.To be considered, candidates must have strong experience operating manual machining equipment, performing mechanical assembly, and supporting prototype testing and troubleshooting activities.Pay Range: $27-$30/hr on W2 (The pay rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)Electro-Mechanical (EMech) Engineer responsibilities include:Operate manual machining equipment such as mill, lathe, drill press, and saws to fabricate and modify parts Support engineering prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting activities Perform mechanical assembly and disassembly of components and hardware Remove and reinstall fasteners, cables, and covers during system builds and maintenance Utilize hand tools effectively in a lab or shop environment Interpret and follow engineering drawings, schematics, and written instructionsCollaborate with engineering teams to support design validation and product developmentMaintain a safe and organized lab/shop workspaceRequired Skills & Experience:6-8 years of experience in electro-mechanical or mechanical engineering support rolesHands-on experience with manual machining equipment (mill, lathe, drill press, etc.) Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand toolsExperience with mechanical or telecom hardware assembly/disassemblyAbility to work in a lab, prototype, or shop environmentExperience supporting prototype builds and testingPreferred Qualifications:Technical training or certification in mechanical, manufacturing, or related fieldExperience with manufacturing processes and fabrication techniquesFamiliarity with engineering documentation and drawingsExposure to ASIC circuit design or simulation tools (nice to have, not required) If you are interested in this role, then please click APPLY NOW.
