Database Engineer San Mateo, CA$75.00 to $95.00 per hour DOE12-month Contract to HireJoin a growing and highly energized technology team at a bay area Biopharmaceutical leader.Option 1 Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Database Engineer with extensive SQL experience. Key Responsibilities:Responsible for developing and maintaining data solutions to enable efficient and accurate ETL operations.Write SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.Contribute to the development of new tools and technologies to enhance data analysis capabilities.Develop and maintain data warehousing and data management systems.Document and communicate data engineering processes, solutions, and best practices to team members and stakeholders.Identify and troubleshoot data-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.Collaborate with IT and other teams to ensure data security and compliance with regulatory requirements.Continuously monitor and optimize data systems and processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.Partner with product and engineering teams to define metrics, build dashboards, and support data-driven decision-making.Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.Connect and integrate data from multiple data sources such as SQL databases, Excel, and cloud platforms.Qualifications:Bachelor of Science preferredStrong proficiency in SQL (query writing, joins, window functions, CTEs, optimization) Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle) Query performance tuning and indexing strategies Data modeling (normalized and dimensional schemas)PowerBI dashboards and data visualizationAPI/CRUD operationsIf you are an experienced Database Engineer with excellent communication skills, we want to speak to you!Option 1 Staffing is an award-winning, recognized leader in staffing and recruiting.
