The Plant Manager is accountable for leading a non-union manufacturing operation and driving performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, labor efficiency, and continuous improvement.This leader will provide hands-on direction to supervisors and hourly team members, establish strong operating cadence, support customer responsiveness, and help continue the Company's evolution toward a more disciplined, scalable, and process-driven manufacturing environment.The ideal candidate will bring experience in automotive, industrial manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, job-shop, custom manufacturing, or other manual/discrete manufacturing environments. This person must be comfortable leading from the floor, building trust with a long-tenured workforce, and implementing practical improvements without disrupting the existing culture.Key ResponsibilitiesPlant LeadershipLead daily operations across a non-union manufacturing site.Manage, coach, and develop supervisors and hourly team members.Establish clear expectations, accountability, communication, and performance standards.Build a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.Safety, Quality, Delivery & CostOwn plant performance across safety, quality, delivery, labor efficiency, productivity, and cost.Monitor key operating metrics and identify opportunities to improve plant performance.Drive corrective actions related to safety, quality, customer service, production flow, and operational execution.Ensure the plant consistently meets customer requirements and internal expectations.Operational Cadence & Process DisciplineCreate and maintain a strong daily, weekly, and monthly operating rhythm.Improve plant communication, supervisor effectiveness, production planning, and accountability.Implement practical Lean manufacturing tools, including 5S, standard work, workflow improvement, visual management, and waste reduction.Support continued professionalization of plant processes, documentation, and reporting.Financial & Business PerformanceManage plant-level financial performance, including labor efficiency, overtime, budget discipline, productivity, and cost improvement.Understand how production decisions impact cost, margin, and overall business performance.Partner with finance and leadership to review plant results, identify trends, and take action.Use data and operating metrics to make informed business decisions.Cross-Functional PartnershipPartner with sales, customer service, finance, HR, materials, scheduling, quality, safety, and continuous improvement resources.Support customer needs through strong communication, responsiveness, and collaboration.Work effectively with internal support functions and other business units to improve plant performance.Lead change in a way that brings employees along while maintaining accountability.ERP/MRP & Systems DisciplineUse ERP/MRP systems to support production planning, scheduling, materials, reporting, and operational visibility.Drive consistent use of systems and reduce dependency on manual workarounds or spreadsheet-based processes.Partner with internal teams to improve data accuracy, reporting, and decision-making.QualificationsPlant Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Production Manager, General Manager, or similar manufacturing leadership experience.Experience in automotive, industrial manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, custom manufacturing, job-shop, or other manual/discrete manufacturing environments.Demonstrated ability to lead supervisors and hourly employees in a hands-on plant environment.Strong understanding of safety, quality, delivery, cost, labor planning, productivity, and operational KPIs.Practical Lean manufacturing/process improvement experience.Financial and business acumen, including budget, cost reduction, labor efficiency, productivity, or P&L exposure.ERP/MRP experience preferred.Ability to partner cross-functionally with commercial, customer service, finance, HR, materials, scheduling, safety, quality, and operational leadership teams.Strong communication and change leadership skills, with the ability to build trust while driving accountability.Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required for candidates with strong relevant manufacturing leadership experience.
