Senior Buyer - PackagingMadison, WI (On-Site)We are partnering with a well-established manufacturing company in the Madison area that is seeking a Senior Buyer - Packaging to join their team. This position reports directly to the Director of Procurement and will play a key role in managing packaging sourcing initiatives that support production, inventory management, supplier performance, and new packaging development.The ideal candidate will have experience purchasing a variety of packaging materials and be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities.Responsibilities:Source and purchase packaging materials including corrugate, film, bottles, labels, displays, pails, and chipboardManage supplier relationships, pricing negotiations, and contract termsSupport inventory planning and material availability based on production schedulesCoordinate packaging changes including artwork, sizing, and specification updatesPartner with internal teams including production, sales, and marketing on packaging initiativesIdentify cost savings opportunities and support sustainability effortsMaintain packaging specifications, pricing, and purchasing documentationAssist with supplier quality issues and performance trackingQualifications:5+ years of packaging purchasing or sourcing experienceExperience sourcing a variety of packaging materialsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and supplier management skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systemsIFS experience is a plusBachelor's degree preferred but experience is more important than education
