Vice President - Executive Compensation ConsultantThe RoleWe are seeking a Vice President in Executive Compensation Consultant to join our high-performing team of advisors (in Boston, New York City, Houston, or Chicago). As a Vice President, you will play a pivotal role in client engagements, project leadership, and internal team development. This is a mid-senior level position for a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and strategic consultant with experience in compensation advisory and a desire to grow into a leadership role.The Vice President serves as the central liaison between the Client Relationship Manager (CRM), client stakeholders, and internal team members, ensuring high-quality, customized compensation solutions are delivered efficiently and effectively.Key ResponsibilitiesClient and Project Leadership· Serve as the primary point of contact between CRMs, client stakeholders (including Boards and C-suite executives), and internal project teams throughout engagements.· Manage the day-to-day execution of multiple large and complex client projects.· Oversee the preparation and delivery of compensation analyses, benchmarking studies, and incentive plan designs.· Synthesize insights and develop client-ready recommendations, tailored to strategic business needs and compliant with governance standards.· Deliver high-quality reports and lead key portions of client presentations with confidence and clarity.Team Development and Oversight· Mentor, supervise, and review work of junior team members.· Provide developmental feedback and foster a collaborative team environment that promotes continuous learning.· Ensure timely and accurate completion of project deliverables, maintaining Pearl Meyer's standard of excellence.Thought Leadership and Firm Contributions· Assist CRMs in the development of intellectual capital (IC), such as white papers, articles, and webinars.· Participate in marketing and networking events to enhance the firm's external presence.· Begin building your personal brand as a compensation expert by contributing to proposals and representing the firm in public forums.Project Topics May Include:· Executive and board compensation benchmarking and strategy· Pay-for-performance alignment· Incentive plan design (short- and long-term)· Equity and severance arrangements· Pay equity analyses and compliance· Compensation program development during IPO and other business transitions· Updates on governance trends and regulatory changesThe PersonWe are looking for a proactive, solutions-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
