Electrical EngineerHouston, TX - Katy, TX or By Bush Airport The Electrical Engineer is an integral member of the Instrumentation, Controls & Electrical (IC&E) team, supporting the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for industrial, energy, and infrastructure projects. This role contributes throughout all project phases, including conceptual planning, detailed design, procurement support, construction assistance, and commissioning. Responsibilities include producing and reviewing technical documentation, performing engineering analyses, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements. The position primarily involves office-based engineering work, with occasional field assignments or plant support activities.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & DocumentationDevelop, update, and maintain essential electrical design documents, including but not limited to:Single-line diagramsMotor control schematicsMCC layouts and bills of materialsCable and conduit schedulesGrounding and lighting plansHazardous area classification drawingsWiring diagrams for junction boxes, PLC, and DCS panelsLoop diagrams and instrument installation detailsParticipate in multidisciplinary design reviews and coordinate with mechanical, civil, automation, and instrumentation teams.Prepare engineering specifications, material take-offs, and construction packages in accordance with client and industry standards.Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of internal electrical standards, templates, and best practices.Project ExecutionPerform intermediate-level engineering calculations, including load analysis, voltage drop studies, short-circuit calculations, and cable/conduit sizing.Support the selection and evaluation of electrical equipment such as transformers, VFDs, switchgear, relays, lighting systems, and control devices.Review vendor submittals for technical accuracy and compliance with project specifications.Assist in developing and verifying bills of materials and I/O lists while coordinating closely with procurement and construction teams.Attend project meetings, provide status updates, and support technical coordination among internal and external stakeholders.
