Quality ManagerSummary:The Quality Manager will oversee the implementation, maintenance and continual improvement ofinternal processes and guidelines related to the quality system and SQF program. This individual will work with management and personnel to plan, develop, and implement new strategies for overall improvements in information flow. Individuals considered for this position will lead facility audits of the quality and food safety system in addition to program/facility audits, customer audits, and regulatory audits. Supervisory and staff HR responsibilities are a requirement of this position. This role is considered part of the Management Team of the company.Responsibilities:Achieves quality operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; prepares and completes actions plans, implements production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identifies and resolves problems, helps implement improvements for change.Reviews and approves internal control documents; Works to develop new strategies to improve internal production capabilities.Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions and re-validations.Responsible for collecting and mapping operational data from plant personnel in order to effectively analyze and enhance workflows; Designs process maps to illustrate the workflow of production of various markets. Establishes with appropriate personnel the documentation and organization of standards for all raw materials and of finished products.Leads facility audits of quality and food safety system.Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and audits; investigates and follows up on customer complaints by collaborating with other members of managementSchedules team meetings and organize production results by the following: Evaluates the process chain, making suggestions for improvements and troubleshooting information technology related assets with the teamPartners with Management in designing and implementation of ERP, Quality Control System, and prep for 3rd party auditsUpdates job knowledge by studying trends and developments in quality management; participating in educational opportunities. Qualifications:Four-year degree from an accredited college or university in Quality Engineering, Food Safety and Technology, Science, or related field; PMP or Six Sigma Certification desiredA minimum of 5-7 years in a comparable lead role in Quality Assurance or Quality EfficiencySupervisory experience of quality efficiency technicians is requiredComprehensive working knowledge of HACCP, USDA, or FDA requiredComprehensive experience with SQF, GFSI, BRC and/or USDA audits requiredPrior experience working in a production/manufacturing environment requiredExperience with quality inspection, auditing and testing experience preferredExperience with OSHA mandates and safety regulations/manufacturing and production environment preferredExperience and working knowledge with ERP or similar software preferredKnowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goodsMust possess thoroughness and attention to detail in dealing with complexitiesMust have solid technical writing skillsExcellent time management skills with the ability to maximize efficiencies and productionMust possess excellent complex problem solving, troubleshooting and decision-making abilities with the ability to implement solutions using sound judgment skillsSkilled in providing oversight and mentoring team membersCreative solving of technical problems; ability to translate technical requirements and test plans
