Staff Accountant

Large distribution company headquartered in the Philadelphia area is looking to hire an experienced Staff Accountant to be a key member of the Corporate Accounting team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the following:Participate in the monthly close and reporting process in accordance with GAAPPrepare and/or review journal entries and account reconciliationsPerform accounting research to determine proper classification and recording of transactionsTrack budgets to actuals monthly, analyzing and researching discrepanciesReconcile bank accounts and credit card accounts monthlyIdentify ways to create efficiencies or automate processesPerform detailed analysis of accounts to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvementFacilitate annual audits, providing documentation, support, and explanationsParticipate in special projectsThe Staff Accountant should possess the following:BS in Accounting or Finance1-4 years of progressive accounting experiencePrior experience in a manufacturing or distribution industry strongly preferredProficient with ExcelSelf-starter with the desire to learnExcellent communication skills
