Job SummaryWe are seeking a Lead Protection & Control Engineer to support Transmission & Distribution (T&D) substation projects, including AC, HVDC, and FACTS systems.This role involves leading design, coordination, and execution of protection & control (P&C) engineering activities while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives are met. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a collaborative engineering environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and oversee protection schemes for T&D substations, data centers, industrial systems, and BESS applicationsDevelop P&C deliverables including:One-line & three-line diagramsAC/DC schematicsRelay settings and wiring diagramsLead design teams (local/remote) for P&C engineering executionEnsure interoperability of protection relays, SCADA, cybersecurity, and communication systemsWork with IEC 61850 process & system bus architecturePerform design calculations (battery sizing, voltage drop, CT/PT specifications, etc.)Coordinate with cross-functional teams (layout, commissioning, field personnel, vendors)Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, and field testing activitiesPrepare engineering estimates and support proposal developmentConduct design reviews and ensure compliance with engineering standardsDrive continuous improvement, lessons learned, and best practicesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Power focus preferred)Minimum 5+ years of experience in protection & control engineeringExperience with:Relay coordination and system protection schemesAIS & GIS substationsCommunication systems and maintenance practicesEIT or P.E.
