Job Description: ICE/EV/HEV Advance Vehicle Propulsion System Virtualization EngineerOverviewWe are seeking an experienced engineer specializing in virtualization of complete vehicle propulsion systems (ICE/EV/HEV). The candidate will develop and validate digital twins representing real-world mission profiles, driving conditions, and full life-cycle usage. The role focuses on system-level modeling, simulation, and optimization to support design decisions and maximize range, energy efficiency, overall vehicle performance under real usage Misson Profiles.Key ResponsibilitiesPropulsion System Virtualization & Digital Twin DevelopmentDevelop virtualization models of complete vehicle propulsion systems using real-world technical specifications and mission profiles.Build and validate Multiphysics digital twins covering propulsion, powertrain, vehicle dynamics, road loads, driving behaviors, traffic conditions, and environmental influences.Execute full propulsion system virtualization and virtual testing to freeze design before engineering release.Multiphysics Modelling & SimulationDevelop advanced mathematical models for complete propulsion systems (Car/SUV) to study performance, durability, and influencing parameters.Identify key variables influencing system behaviors and optimize them to meet design targets.Conduct 1D simulations of hybrid/electric powertrains and vehicle dynamics across various drive cycles to estimate range, efficiency, and SOC.ICE/EV/HEV System Behavior & Component-Level ModellingDefine physics, behaviors, and control interactions of EV systems across diverse operating conditions.Determine motor torque, RPM, gearbox ratios, and vehicle parameters for given specifications and drive cycles.Create detailed 1D models of EV components including batteries, electric machines, inverters, DC-DC converters, BMS, and controllers in platforms such as MATLAB/Simulink, Stateflow, Sim-scape, and GT-SUITE.Model Optimization & System IntegrationImprove existing simulation models and optimize specifications of all EV subsystems for performance under varying ambient and operating scenarios.Collaborate with aerodynamic, thermal, and powertrain teams to integrate efficiency-enhancing technologies such as lightweight materials, aero improvements, regenerative braking, and power management strategies.Validation, Correlation & TestingConduct detailed simulations for vehicle aerodynamics, rolling resistance, and powertrain efficiency across real-world environments.Correlate simulation outputs with on-road and lab data to improve prediction accuracy.Perform vehicle range and performance tests across different temperatures, terrains, and load cases.Carry out MIL/SIL testing to validate, calibrate, and refine the 1D models.Work with battery, motor, thermal, and vehicle testing teams to tune and validate simulation parameters against measured data (e.g., speed, SOC, power).Documentation & ReportingDocument simulation methodologies, findings, validation results, and design recommendations.Provide actionable insights for improving range, efficiency, and powertrain component selection for future vehicle programs.Required Software SkillsExpertise in plant and controller modeling and simulation tools such as:MATLAB/Simulink, Stateflow, Sim-scape, GT-SUITE, AMESIM, STALASIM, AVL Cruise, and similar platforms.QualificationsPhD or MS in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering5+ years of relevant experience in vehicle propulsion modeling, simulation, and validation
