Job Description

As a Structural Engineer with Heerema Marine Contractors, you will be a member of a team dedicated to engineering structures necessary to facilitate offshore transportation and installation for a variety of Oil and Gas Industry, as well as Offshore Wind facilities.Work will include design of grillage and seafastening, design of lifting aids/tools, modeling of new as well as existing structures and performance of structural integrity analysis, and rigging design. Travel will be required to fabrication yards as well as offshore onto our construction vessels to provide valuable insight/capability in support of our offshore activities.The work is exciting, yet can be fast paced and demanding. Thus the need for candidates who are high energy, pro-active, competent and willing to flex into a multitude of roles and tasks.Experience RequirementsMinimum Undergraduate degree from an accredited university in engineering (Structural, Mechanical, Civil, Etc.)No prior work experience necessary; this position is specifically for entry level individualsFamiliar with SACS a plusFEA experience a plusGeneral Scope (training/mentoring will be "on the job" primarily)Conceptual and detailed design of grillage and seafastening (structural connections between cargos and transport vessels)SACS modeling to facilitate lift and transportation verification of new and existing structures to include full Topsides and JacketsConceptual and detailed design of lifting appliancesConceptual and detailed design of lift rigging for offshore lifting operationsDevelopment/writing of analysis reportsProvide onshore support in fabrication yardsProvide offshore support aboard company vesselsValued character traitsPride in the quality of one's workCognizant of the need for timely/efficient completion of tasksDetailed natureInterest in continued learningTravelTravel will be domestic as well as internationalTravel expected to be ~20% (consisting normally of ~2-3 trips per year, lasting between 3 and 5 weeks each)
