Metallurgical Technician

Akkodis is seeking an Metallurgical Lab Technician for a 6+ Contract position with a client located in Garden City, NYPay Range: $30/hr - $35/hr (The rate may vary based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.Position ResponsibilitiesPrepare samples for analysis by Met Lab Technician, which includes but is not limited to the following tasks:Operate both mechanical band saw for rough sectioning, followed by a sophisticated table-top saw to further section the extracted material at greater precisionUse various methods to mount alloy samples in epoxy or acrylic "pucks"Grind and polish samples in pucks to allow microscopic distinction of features in the sample microstructureRequired Skills and Abilities:Must be able to complete heavy work assignments while remaining detailed orientedMechanical ability to use hand toolsEducation and Experience:High School Diploma (associate's degree in physical sciences preferred, including but not limited Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, etc.)Minimum Experience required: 0-2 yearsIf you are interested in this Metallurgical Lab Technician job, then please click APPLY NOW.
