Engineer I - Distribution Standards & CAD EngineeringHouston, TX (Hybrid - Downtown Houston)12-Month 1099 Contract (Potential Extension) | $50-$55/hrCompany Overview:ElevationHR is partnering with a leading Fortune 500 energy and utilities organization to identify an Engineer I to support Distribution Standards & Materials initiatives in Houston, TX.Position Summary:This role supports engineering standards, CAD design support, technical documentation, and utility compliance initiatives supporting electric distribution operations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience or exposure to MicroStation CAD software within utility, infrastructure, or engineering environments.Key Responsibilities:Develop and revise engineering standards, specifications, and design criteria using MicroStation CAD softwareSupport electric distribution engineering and materials standardization initiativesEnsure compliance with internal engineering procedures and external standards including NESC, ANSI, ASTM, IEEE, ERCOT, and NERCDesign and support engineering systems, components, and technical processes based on operational requirementsConduct engineering analysis, testing, evaluations, and technical reviewsCollaborate with engineering, operations, and project teamsPrepare technical documentation, reports, drawings, and engineering deliverablesIdentify technical issues and support troubleshooting and resolution effortsMaintain accuracy and attention to detail across engineering documentation and design updatesRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology required0-2 years of engineering experienceExperience using MicroStation CAD software strongly preferredStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and standards documentationEffective written and verbal communication skillsStrong teamwork and collaboration abilitiesKnowledge of utility, infrastructure, or engineering environments preferredPreferred Qualifications:Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology backgroundExposure to utility engineering or electric distribution projectsFamiliarity with engineering compliance standards and technical documentationInternship, co-op, or project experience within utilities, EPC firms, or industrial environments preferredAdditional Requirements:Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card HolderMust be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the futureMust be able to work hybrid onsite in Downtown Houston, TXNo relocation assistance providedNo third-party Corp-to-Corp (C2C) engagementsEngineeringJobs #ElectricalEngineering #EngineerI #MicroStation #CADEngineering #UtilityEngineering #DistributionEngineering #EnergyJobs #InfrastructureJobs #HoustonJobs #HoustonEngineering #EntryLevelEngineering #EngineeringTechnology #NESC #PowerDistribution #Utilities #HybridJobs #TechnicalCareers #EngineeringCareers #NowHiring
