POSITION SUMMARY: This position involves day-to-day responsibilities that require independent judgment and discretion, contributing to the department's claims handling success.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & BASIC DUTIES: (This job specification may not include all the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all the duties that may be performed.)Oversee a book of business inclusive of Commercial &, as applicable, Personal lines claimsServe as a liaison between the Client, Carrier, Account Executive and Producer on claims related issuesAttend strategy meetings on servicing the account as well as attend in person renewal meetings with Producers and Account ExecutivesClient advocacy in interaction with carriers on claim related mattersMaintain relationships and communications with carriers and clientsPrepare and present claim reviews and action plans to clientsReview and process new claim reports and court decisionsSupport claims process through research, expertise and internal and external communicationsParticipate in trainings and educational presentations to augment knowledge on emerging/relevant claims handling and coverage related issues.SUPERVISORY DUTIES:No specific supervisory responsibilities, but frequently required to instruct Claims Administrator on the submission of claims and which lines of business are applicable.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:Computer skills and proficiency with tools such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and EPICStrong interpersonal, decision-making, strategic planning and problem-solving skillsStrong knowledge of insurance coverages and regulationsExcellent verbal and written communications skillsProfessional/Goal orientedExcellent organizational skillsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentStrong Interpersonal, decision-making, strategic planning and problem-solving skills.Strong knowledge of insurance coverages and regulationsExcellent verbal and written communications skillsProfessional/Goal orientedExcellent organizational skillsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree5+ years in insurance industry adjusting claimsP&C Broker's LicensePHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job is performed in a typical office setting with limited physical effort and exposure. The environment is high stress and fast-paced with a high daily workload.
