Fluids GSE Design Engineer III | Austin, TXAn innovative and rapidly growing aerospace company is looking for a Fluids GSE Design Engineer III to play a key role in the development of next-generation launch infrastructure, test stands, and production systems.This position offers the opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of complex fluid systems, supporting mission-critical operations in a fast-paced and highly collaborative engineering environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop ground-based fluid systems, including P&IDs, system layouts, and engineering documentationPerform pipe and tube sizing calculations for cryogenic, compressible, and multiphase fluid systemsSpecify and select system components such as valves, fittings, insulation, and coatingsSupport fabrication, installation, commissioning, and operation of fluid systemsProduce detailed engineering drawings and work instructionsCollaborate closely with technicians and construction teams to ensure efficient system build and integrationLead and participate in internal and external design reviews and readiness reviewsDevelop and execute test procedures, including system activation and validationTroubleshoot system issues and manage non-conformance processesEnsure compliance with relevant engineering codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, API, NFPA)Support ongoing system maintenance, upgrades, and performance optimisationTravel to test and launch sites as required (approximately 30%)Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related disciplineStrong understanding of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and thermodynamicsProven experience designing and building fluid or ground support systemsBackground in aerospace, R&D, energy, or oil & gas environmentsAbility to balance detailed engineering tasks with project coordination responsibilitiesStrong communication skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teamsMinimum of 5 years' experience working with fluid systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, or HVAC systemsExperience with cryogenic systemsWillingness to travel up to 30%Preferred QualificationsExperience with control systems such as DCS, SCADA, or instrumentation and data acquisition systemsProficiency in 3D CAD tools (Siemens NX or similar)Experience developing test and operational proceduresFamiliarity with ASME and aerospace-related standards7+ years of relevant industry experienceHands-on experience building and troubleshooting complex mechanical or fluid systemsAdditional InformationThis is an onsite role based in Austin, TexasCandidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-performance engineering environmentOpportunity to contribute to cutting-edge aerospace and spaceflight programmesDesired Skills and ExperienceFluid Systems Design, Ground Support Equipment (GSE), Cryogenics, P&IDs, Thermodynamics, Mechanical Design, ASME Standards, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, CAD (Siemens NX preferred), Test Engineering
