Early Childhood Center Assistant Teaching Position

Westside Neighborhood School, a Preschool-8 school serving over 520 students in the Silicon Beach area of West Los Angeles, is looking for an experienced, talented, and highly professional assistant teacher in our Early Childhood Center. Each classroom accommodates approximately 12-16 children and has two co-lead teachers. Assistant teachers will have a general assisting schedule but may be assigned to any of the ECC classrooms as needed. The ECC Director or Assistant Director will communicate changes as they arise. ECC Assistant Teachers are primarily responsible for children's supervision and safety, but could be asked to support the classroom teacher in a variety of ways, such as:Assisting with curriculum development and documentation.Administrative and organizational tasks such as labeling, laminating, and organizing materials.Upkeep of our outdoor classroom environment and creation of outdoor provocations for play.Duties include assisting with children signing in and out of school, carline arrival/dismissal, and bathroom supervision.Housekeeping duties such as laundry, washing dishes, sweeping, and sanitizing tables.Any other task or duty relevant to the TA position as directed by your supervisor or the Lead Teachers.Ideal candidates should have at least 12 ECE credits or hold a B.A. and preschool experience. In addition to classroom duties, all faculty members share in the daily supervision duties at the school and participate in professional development. A commitment to professional development, a good sense of humor, creativity, and strong interpersonal skills are essential. The salary range for full-time positions is $40,000-$45,000, based on experience. Occasional late hours and special weekend events in support of the school's programs and culture may also be required with advance notice. Full-time positions include benefits, and compensation is competitive.
