RoleOracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Security ArchitectLocation : Houston, TXHybrid jobPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Security Architect to lead the design, implementation, and governance of secure cloud solutions across our OCI environment. This role will be responsible for defining cloud security architecture, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and protecting critical enterprise assets in a dynamic cloud ecosystem.The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in OCI with a strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, and enterprise architecture.Key Responsibilities• Design and implement secure architecture solutions within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)• Define and enforce cloud security standards, policies, and best practices• Lead identity and access management (IAM) strategy, including federation, RBAC, and least-privilege models• Architect and secure OCI networking components (VCNs, subnets, gateways, load balancers)• Implement data protection strategies including encryption (at rest and in transit), key management, and data masking• Oversee threat detection, monitoring, and incident response within OCI environments• Conduct security assessments, risk analyses, and vulnerability management• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, HIPAA where applicable)• Partner with DevOps and engineering teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps)• Evaluate and implement cloud-native and third-party security tools• Provide guidance on secure migration strategies from on-prem to OCI• Develop and maintain security architecture documentation and reference models• Act as a subject matter expert for OCI security across the organizationRequired Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience)• 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3+ years focused on cloud security architecture• Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)• Strong understanding of cloud security principles (Zero Trust, shared responsibility model)• Expertise in IAM, network security, encryption, and security monitoring• Experience with security frameworks such as NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, or SOC 2• Knowledge of scripting or automation (Python, Terraform, or similar)• Experience securing containerized and microservices architectures (Kubernetes, Docker)Preferred Qualifications• OCI certifications (e.g., OCI Architect Professional, OCI Security Professional)• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or CEH• Experience with multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)• Familiarity with SIEM, SOAR, and cloud security posture management (CSPM) tools• Experience in regulated industries (energy, finance, healthcare)Key Competencies• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities• Ability to translate business requirements into secure technical solutions• Leadership mindset with the ability to influence cross-functional teams• Proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks
