Akkodis is seeking a Buyer for a W2 contract position onsite with a defense client in Atlanta, GA. This position has a high likelihood of conversion at the 6-month mark, dependent on overall performance and quality of work. This Buyer role will manage end-to-end direct procurement of raw materials and components for regulated programs by issuing and expediting purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams, resolving supply issues, and ensuring compliant, on-time delivery of critical materials.Pay Range: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour on W2; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.Buyer job responsibilities include:In this role, you will support procurement activities for key programs, manage supplier relationships, and ensure on-time delivery of critical materials and services. This position is ideal for someone hungry to grow, eager to learn, and ready to thrive in a high-growth, mission-driven company.Purchase Order ManagementCreate, issue, and manage purchase orders to meet production and program needs.Supplier CoordinationMaintain relationships with suppliers, monitor performance, and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, and pricing.Problem Solving: Quickly resolve supply chain disruptions, delivery delays, and quality issues to keep projects on track.Order Tracking: Monitor and expedite orders to meet deadlines and production schedules.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and program teams to align procurement with company goals.Data & Process ManagementMaintain accurate records, track procurement KPIs, and identify opportunities to streamline processes.Qualifications:5 years of supply chain experience, including technical procurementPreference for people coming from Engineering, Aerospace, Defense etc.Commercial procurement focus, but federal procurement would be very nice to have.Experience adhering to FAR/DFAR requirements regarding federal procurementPrevious experience operating autonomously in the buying process and "finding solutions"Experience focusing on Direct ProcurementMRO/RAW Commodities, Raw Materials, components, and goods essential for manufacturing.Not interested in people with heavy focus on sub-contractsBachelor's degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business or related fieldProficiency in Excel and MS OfficePreferred Skills:Prior experience interpreting engineering drawingsProficiency in Excel; experience with Oracle ERP systems is a plus.Experience owning a process, product line, or workload end-to-endIf you are interested in this role, then please click APPLY NOW.
