Job SummaryA client of insight global is a well-established aerospace manufacturing company with over 60 years of experience producing precision aircraft engine components for major customers. They are seeking a Quality Manager to serve as the second-in-command within the quality department, with the opportunity to take full ownership of the function. This individual will lead day-to-day quality operations, manage a team, and partner closely with production and engineering to ensure compliance and efficiency across all processes. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone coming out of a hands-on aerospace machining environment who is ready to step into a position where they can take charge, improve processes, and grow within a stable and reputable organization.Job ResponsibilitiesManage the day-to-day operations of the quality department, including oversight of inspection activities and workflowLead and develop a team of 3-6 quality inspectors, including scheduling, prioritization, and performance managementPartner closely with Production and Engineering teams to support quality across all stages of manufacturingPerform and support inspection activities, including reviewing in-process parts and assisting with overflow as neededOversee inspection and gage control systems to ensure compliance with aerospace quality standardsSupport customer communication, including responding to inquiries, concerns, and quality-related issuesConduct and participate in internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to AS9100/ISO9001 standardsDevelop, edit, and maintain: Inspection Method Sheets (IMS)Work instructions and proceduresManage First Article Inspections (FAI) and PPAP processesLead root cause analysis and corrective action initiativesReview and manage: Customer contractsMaterial certificationsVendor certifications and outside service documentationUtilize and manage customer portals for documentation and complianceInterpret and apply blueprints and specifications, including ballooned drawingsMaintain accurate and organized quality records and documentationMust-Have Requirements: Aerospace manufacturing experience within a precision machining environment (CNC, milling, grinding, etc.)Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with AS9100 / ISO9001 quality standards (full understanding required)4-6+ years of experience in a Quality leadership role (Manager, Supervisor, or Lead)Proven auditing experience (internal and/or external audits)Experience creating and working with: Inspection Method Sheets (IMS) Work procedures / quality documentation Customer portals Reviewing material and vendor certifications
