Job Description

Our client, a global retail and ecommerce leader, is hiring for a contract Change Management Consultant. This role will be mostly remote but will require occasional onsite in Pleasanton and San Francisco as needed.This individual will be the overall change lead for the company's Global Point of Sale (GPOS) program, which will be replacing hardware (tablets) and software of all POS systems across all their brands. The individual must have prior experience leading a large, enterprise-level change initiative, be either trained in PROSCI or have at least 6 years as a change management practitioner. This individual should be skilled in conducting impact assessments, working cross functionally, highly experienced in stakeholder management. Retail industry experience would be a big plus.Contract Duration: 8+ months to start, potential to extend longer termKey Responsibilities:Lead and execute enterprise-wide change management strategies for large-scale transformation initiativesServe as the primary change management lead for cross-functional business and technology programs, ensuring organizational readiness and successful adoptionConduct organizational change impact assessments to identify impacts across people, process, technology, and operationsDevelop and implement change management plans, including stakeholder engagement, communications, training, and adoption strategiesPartner closely with program leadership, business stakeholders, IT teams, operations, and external vendors to drive alignment and change readinessEstablish and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across multiple levels of the organization, including executive leadershipIdentify organizational risks, resistance points, and adoption challenges, and develop mitigation and engagement strategiesSupport business readiness activities including process transitions, user adoption planning, rollout coordination, and post-implementation stabilizationFacilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and change forums to drive alignment and decision-makingDevelop communication strategies and messaging tailored to impacted audiences across the organizationMeasure and report on change adoption, engagement, readiness, and overall program effectiveness using defined KPIs and success metricsEnsure change management deliverables align with overall program timelines, milestones, and business objectivesRequired Experience/Skills:6+ years of experience in Change Management, Organizational Change Management (OCM), or Transformation ConsultingProven experience leading large-scale, enterprise-level change initiatives impacting multiple business functions and user groupsStrong expertise conducting change impact assessments and organizational readiness activitiesDemonstrated success managing complex stakeholder environments and influencing across cross-functional teamsExperience developing and executing communication, training, and adoption strategies for enterprise technology implementationsStrong facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple workstreams and priorities within fast-paced transformation environmentsExperience partnering with executive leadership, business teams, and technical organizationsPreferred Qualifications:PROSCI certification or formal change management trainingPrior experience supporting retail, store operations, POS, or customer-facing technology transformation initiativesExperience working within enterprise retail environments or supporting large-scale rollout programsPrevious experience with global deployments, phased rollouts, or multi-brand organizational structuresExperience working with Agile, hybrid, or enterprise program delivery methodologiesPrior experience in a retail organization is a plus
