Senior Superintendent - Multifamily ConstructionLocation: San DiegoIndustry: Multifamily Construction Employment Type: Full-TimePosition OverviewA well-established General Contractor and Owner, Builder, Developer in San Diego is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to oversee large-scale multifamily construction projects from groundbreaking through final turnover. This individual will be responsible for managing all field operations, maintaining project schedules, enforcing safety and quality standards, and coordinating subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading ground-up multifamily developments, including podium, wrap, garden-style, and mixed-use residential projects. Strong leadership, scheduling expertise, and the ability to drive production while maintaining a safe and organized jobsite are essential.Key ResponsibilitiesLead day-to-day field operations for multifamily construction projects ranging from podium and wrap-style developments to large-scale mixed-use communities.Manage and coordinate all onsite subcontractors, vendors, inspections, and field personnel.Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules to ensure milestone and completion dates are achieved.Enforce company safety standards and OSHA compliance across all jobsite activities.Conduct daily site walks to monitor quality control, workmanship, productivity, and overall project progress.Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Owners, Architects, Engineers, and local inspectors throughout the construction lifecycle.Identify and proactively resolve field conflicts, constructability issues, and schedule impacts.Oversee inspections, punch lists, certificate of occupancy requirements, and final project turnover.Ensure all work aligns with FHA and ADA requirements, guaranteeing accessibility standards and regulatory compliance throughout the build lifecycle.Lead subcontractor meetings, site logistics coordination, and weekly progress reporting.Mentor Assistant Superintendents and field staff while fostering a strong team-oriented culture.Qualifications10+ years of construction experience with at least 5 years managing multifamily projects as a Superintendent or Senior Superintendent.Proven experience delivering ground-up multifamily developments including podium, wrap, mixed-use, or high-density residential projects.Strong understanding of construction sequencing, structural systems, MEP coordination, and finishing operations.Proficiency with scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project preferred.Experience using construction management platforms such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar tools.Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety management practices, and quality control procedures.Ability to lead large field teams and maintain strong relationships with clients and trade partners.Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.Preferred Project ExperiencePodium Multifamily ProjectsWrap-Style ApartmentsMixed-Use Residential DevelopmentsAffordable Housing ProjectsStudent Housing CommunitiesSenior Living FacilitiesCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive Base SalaryAnnual Bonus ProgramVehicle Allowance or Company TruckMedical, Dental, and Vision Insurance401(k) with Company MatchPaid Time Off & Company Holidays
