About the JobAs a People Business Partner at Pacsun, you will work closely with department leaders, executing strategic HR plans to further business goals, and creating a best place to work for employees. The People Business Partner balances strategic partnership with hands-on execution, building strong relationships, driving efficiency, and creating an exceptional employee experience in a fast-paced retail environment. The People Business partner provides day-to-day support in administering human resources policies and programs covering a broad range of HR topics which include staffing, on-boarding, employee interactions & support, performance management, and learning & development A large component of the role works in partnership with corporate-based leaders within all functions and will be focused on strategic organizational planning, employee relations, employee engagement, performance management, project management, and the company's internal culture initiatives.Key Responsibilities: People Business Partnership & Organizational Design: Acts as a strategic partner, collaborating to strengthen work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity, retention, and engagement.Partners with leadership to align team structures and headcount planning with business priorities.Acts as an advisor to leaders on team structure, talent movement, and organizational planning.Manages and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting thorough and objective investigations while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.Drives the implementation of performance management process, coaching leaders on effective practices to enhance employee development and productivity.Advises leadership in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.Employee Experience & Engagement: Acts as a culture champion, partnering with leaders to foster inclusive, engaging, and supportive team environments where employees feel valued.Supports engagement initiatives, surveys, feedback, and action planning.Partners with leaders to mitigate retention risks and address underlying drivers to support team stability.Conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations. Use information to coach leaders and devise programs for increased retention statistics with a focus on employee engagement.People Operations: Oversee HR Specialist in area of personnel files/ HRIS, unemployment, employment verifications, onboarding, and immigration authorization/ I9s.Maintains compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reports comply.Ensure fair, consistent, and compliant application of people policies and practices.Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.Partners with Head of People on implementation and execution of HR programs and initiativesActs with autonomy, make decisions, and act in accordance with company policies and proceduresManage relationships with HR Vendors relating to people operations, L&D, and engagement.Performs other related duties as assigned.What it takes to Join: College degree required8+ years of HR experience in a HR Generalist or People Business Partner role; People leadership experience preferredOutstanding interpersonal skills to effectively interface with employees at various levels of the organization and experience providing appropriate coaching and feedback as necessaryDemonstrated success in improving processes and reducing friction across HR programsA bias for action and the ability to move seamlessly between strategic partnership and tactical executionExperience with medium to high-risk employee relations matters and relevant investigationsAbility to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability to effectively analyze, interpret, and present data (engagement, turnover, and other people-related metrics)Highly adaptable to a fluid and ever-changing fast-paced working environment, ability to flex style based on diverse teams of varying support needsExperience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications preferred; UKG experience is a plusHaving a team player mindset and willingness to contribute to the successful implementation of People team initiatives and programsPHR or SPHR certified through HRCI a plusDeveloping the Community/ Leadership Qualities:Operate with the highest level of conduct, integrity, and confidentiality, setting the example for leaders and associates.Develop and nurture strong cross functional partnerships; driving business results and inspiring a culture of transparency, collaboration, and accountability.Serve as a Pacsun advocate in the industry and marketplace.Recruit, identify, develop, and retain talent that delivers performance excellence.As a manager, serve as a leader of company culture, norms, and conduct.Ability to balance a strong management presence with a high level of approachability, encouraging and eliciting associate feedback and interaction.Salary Range($98,600- $114,196)Pac Perks:Flexible work from home optionsHQ workforce of 60%+ people of colorDog friendly office environmentBeverages and snacks provided dailyOnsite gym, volleyball court, ping-pong tables, and a skate park available on campus$1,000 referral incentive programGenerous associate discount of 30-50% off merchandise online and in-storesCompetitive long-term and short-term incentive programImmediate 100% vested 401K contributions and employer matchCalm Premium access for all employeesEmployee perks throughout the yearPhysical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that are required by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. As a National Retailer, occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required during periods of high volume.
