Job - Accountancy Manager Location: New Haven, CT (Hybrid 3 days onsite)Duration: 06 Months (Possibility of extension)Role OverviewThis role is a senior-level accounting position within Rare Disease business unit. It focuses on complex accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls, with a strong emphasis on stock-based compensation, equity accounting, intercompany accounting, and legal entity management. The role works in a global, cross-functional environment, interacting with finance leadership, HR, FP&A, auditors, and external service providers.Key ResponsibilitiesStock-Based Compensation & Equity AccountingOwn the end-to-end accounting process for stock-based compensation and equity transactionsEnsure compliance with US GAAP and IFRS standardsPrepare and analyze stock-based compensation expenseDevelop forecasts for compensation expense and budgeting cycles (RBU2, MTP, phased budgets)Collaborate with HR, FP&A, and Group Accounting for accurate financial reportingLegal Entity Accounting & Intercompany ManagementPrepare and summarize monthly legal entity recharges across ~56 entitiesReview profitability and cost-plus margin structures of legal entitiesOversee intercompany accounting processes, including:Intercompany reconciliations (Out-of-Balance analysis)AR/AP interest trackingCurrency translation and consolidation adjustmentsManage intercompany transactions Coordinate with outsourced provider (Genpact) handling intercompany entriesPresent intercompany results in monthly and quarterly meetingsMonth-End Close & General Ledger ActivitiesPrepare and review journal entries for key accounting areasPerform balance sheet reconciliationsSupport monthly financial close activitiesConduct financial statement fluctuation analysisEnsure adherence to SOX compliance and internal control requirementsFinancial Reporting & AnalysisDevelop financial metrics and analytics to explain account variancesSupport internal management reporting packagesAssist in preparation of external reporting disclosures and footnotesProvide ad hoc financial analysis for leadership and stakeholdersControls, Compliance & Audit SupportSupport financial system administration and compliance processesAssist with internal and external auditsEnsure compliance with corporate governance and SOX controlsProvide documentation and analysis for audit requirementsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in AccountingCPA certification (mandatory)7+ years of experience in public accounting or corporate accountingStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office toolsStrong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRSExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience with ERP and reporting tools such as:SAPBlackLineBPCBW/BIExperience in multinational or shared service accounting environmentsAbility to quickly learn new financial systems and toolsCore Focus Areas of the RoleStock-based compensation and equity accounting (primary focus)Intercompany accounting and legal entity reportingMonth-end close and financial reportingCompliance (SOX, audit readiness)Financial analysis and variance explanationCross-functional collaboration across global teamsOverall Job NatureThis is a high-visibility senior accounting role requiring strong technical accounting expertise, especially in equity/stock compensation, combined with operational control over intercompany processes and financial close activities in a global pharmaceutical environment.
