Medical Technologist

Pay Range: $45 to $52/hr.Job Title: Medical TechnologistLocation: Detroit, MI 48202Job Type: Contract Shift: 2:30pm - 11pm shift (5x8s rotation)Job Description:Under direct supervision by laboratory technologist, leader and/or supervisor, and according to defined protocols, performs select procedures on blood and/or other body fluids or specimens, involving manual techniques or the use of laboratory instruments and information systems.May perform phlebotomy as needed.Required:Completion of a Bachelor's Degree Program in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science.Certification from a recognized national certifying agency (ASCP or NCA).Minimum 2-3 years of previous experience in this role or similar.Experience with Beckman Coulter equipment.Preferred:Ability to communicate effectively with others.Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient to perform laboratory functions.Ability to communicate effectively with others.Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient to perform laboratory functions.
