Obstetrics & Gynecology, Academic Generalist Division Director, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Gynecology DivisionThe Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas Medical Branch John Sealy School of Medicine in Galveston is seeking applications for a full-time, faculty position as Division Director for its new Academic Generalist Division at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.Essential Job FunctionsThe Academic Generalist Division Director will play a pivotal role in leading and advancing the division's administrative, educational, and research initiatives. They will help direct the clinical activities of both the department's Academic Generalists and its employed general Ob/Gyn practices. The successful candidate will be an accomplished leader with extensive experience in managing a comprehensive range of obstetric and gynecologic conditions, ensuring exceptional patient outcomes, and upholding the highest standards in clinical education and scholarly research. Reporting directly to the Chair of the Department, the Division Director will be responsible for guiding the strategic direction of the division, including program development, operational expansion, and community engagement. This role will involve overseeing the academic generalist division and community-based general Ob/Gyn practices across multiple locations, including Galveston, Clear Lake, Angleton, and Lake Jackson.Further leadership and teaching opportunities are available based on the candidate's experience, professional interests, and contributions to the academic and clinical environment. The Division Director will have the potential to engage in mentoring faculty and trainees, developing new educational programs, and collaborating on interdisciplinary initiatives that further elevate the department's academic mission.Preferred QualificationsFive years of Clinical Experience.Obstetrics & Gynecology,Urogynecology and Pelvic Health - Assistant or Associate Professor of Clinical PracticeThis position will collaborate with both our academic and practice-based faculty providers, as a full-time academic physician providing patient care services in outpatient and inpatient settings. This faculty position will work with the Department Chair, Director of Urogynecology, and Urogynecology nursing staff to meet the needs of the Female Pelvic Health issues in our community.Essential Job FunctionsProvide primary health care to all female pelvic health and reconstructive surgery patients and stay current in new methods & techniques.Instruct medical students, residents, and fellows.Actively participate on FPMRS fellowship program.Participate in developing strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth, performance management and operating planning in conjunction with the Department Chair and Director of Urogynecology.Adhere to UTMB's, federal, state and local regulations, enforcing compliance.Participate in research activities.Demonstrate leadership skills in achieving improved outcomes for all patients and families.Demonstrates principles of service in patient, family, and staff interactions.Preferred QualificationsFPMRS certified or with intention of being certified in two years.Minimum QualificationsCandidate should be a graduate of an approved medical school, have completed an approved residency training program, and have a Texas Medical License without restrictions.Board certified or board eligible through the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology or equivalent.SalaryCommensurate with experience.Equal Employment OpportunityUTMB Health strives to provide equal opportunity employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, national origin, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, genetic information, disability, veteran status, or any other basis protected by institutional policy or by federal, state or local laws unless such distinction is required by law.
