You'll join a small, highly impactful team that partners with communities nationwide to provide grants, methodology, and support that helps strengthen family stability so children can succeed in school. This role is built for someone who thrives on disciplined project leadership, clarity, and coordinated action.Summary:The Siemer Institute's mission is to, "Invest in the potential of children through family stability'. This mission is advanced through a national network of funded partners, service providers and key stakeholders.The National Director of Operations provides strategic, operational leadership and project management across SI's organizational priorities. This role is designed for a disciplined systems thinker who translates direction into coordinated action to empower a small, high-performing team to operate with efficiency and effectiveness while supporting a national network of communities working to advance family stability and child success.As SI grows, the responsibilities of this role may evolve. The National Director of Operations will help shape future organizational capacity and structure, and will lead through influence, coordination, and project ownership.Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:Operations and Project Management Lead cross-functional project management for SI's strategic initiatives, maintaining workplans, timelines, and accountability structures.Coordinate across programs, data, and communication functions to ensure alignment and execution.Manage contractor and consultant relationships supporting organizational projects.Oversee budget tracking, financial reporting, and compliance in coordination with relevant staff.Strategic CommunicationsOversee development of (digital and print) materials that articulate SI's impact, strategy, and value proposition.Support thought leadership efforts, including briefs, presentations, and external communications.Draft and coordinate external communications, presentations, and impact materials as directed.Ensure consistency and quality across organizational written materials and channels.Organizational Leadership Ensure high-quality preparation and follow-through for key engagements with funders, partners, and the board.Support organizational, board and governance processes, including documentation and materials development.Contribute to organizational priority-setting and sequencing in partnership with the President.Network Learning Strengthen SI's national network by supporting learning, alignment, and shared practice.Manage logistics and coordination for the National Summit and Network Learning sessions. Co-create additional engagement and learning opportunities in partnership with the SI team and network. Leads through influence, coordination, and clarity, with the ability to support organizational growth.Title: National Director of Operations of Siemer InstituteEmployer of Record: United Way of Central Ohio | Assignment: Siemer Institute (pursuant to an Employee Leasing Agreement between the parties).Reports To: President & National Executive Director of the Siemer InstituteFSLA Classification: Exempt Salary Range: $95,000-$115,000 annually, plus bonus potential, based on a 37.5-hour work week, dependent on background and experience.Benefits Offerings:Hybrid work model approach combining in-office work and remote work Flexible daily hours (available year-round) Summer hours (offered from Memorial Day through Labor Day)15 vacation days earned annually11 paid holidays annuallyOne personal day annually Seven sick days earned annually (14 days earned the 2nd year)Tuition reimbursement (subject to budget availability)Medical and dental insurance (employee pays 20% of premium)Vision insurance (employee pays 100% of premium)Short-term disability insurance (employee pays 50% of premium)Medical flexible spending accountLong term disability and term life insurance (employer pays 100% of premium)401K plan with up to 3% match and 3% safe harbor contribution for eligible/participating employees after 1 year of serviceBusiness casual dress code policyJob Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a related field required.7+ years of experience in philanthropy, systems change, community impact, or related fields.Experience working with foundations or purpose-aligned organizations strongly preferred.Demonstrated success in strategy, partnership development, and project leadership.Experience coordinating teams or mentoring staff; comfort leading through influence.Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.Ability to manage complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders.Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities at this time.Work Environment:This hybrid role uses standard office equipment (computer, printer, phone, copier, filing cabinet) and is primarily home based; reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated workspace are required. Siemer Institute maintains office space for onsite work and meetings. Mileage to and from the SI home office is not reimbursable.Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, weighing up to 20 pounds. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Expected Work Hours:This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, totaling 37.5 hours per week. Flexible daily scheduling may be available year-round; however, all work schedules and flextime arrangements must be approved by the department head.
