Job Title: Education Program Specialist / Program StrategistLocation: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid)Duration: 12 MonthsWork Schedule: 1-5 hours per month (as needed)Job Description:Seeking an experienced Education Program Specialist / Program Strategist to provide oversight and guidance for Special Education Services within the hospital setting. This position reports directly to the Chief Compliance Officer and is responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal special education regulations, including IDEA guidelines.Key Responsibilities:• Plan, develop, organize, implement, and evaluate special education programming for qualifying patients• Review educational records and determine eligibility for special education services for patients under 22 years old who have not graduated high school• Conduct educational interviews, evaluations, and assessments based on patient needs• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and curriculum plans in compliance with IDEA requirements• Establish educational goals and objectives based on current functioning levels• Maintain accurate educational documentation and patient records in accordance with ASH policies and Arizona Department of Education requirements• Participate in treatment planning and interdisciplinary collaboration• Provide guidance, support, and education to teaching staff and contract teachers• Complete reporting required for funding and management of special education services• Ensure compliance with state and federal special education laws and Nueva Vista School District requirementsRequired Qualifications:• Bachelor's Degree required (Master's Degree preferred)• Valid Teaching Certification in Special Education (mandatory - certification must be submitted)• Experience in Special Education• Strong understanding of IEP development and IDEA legal mandates• Excellent organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills• Experience working within behavioral health, psychiatric, or inpatient settings preferredPreferred Qualifications:• Teaching experience• Record keeping experience• Experience supervising educational staff or programsAdditional Requirements:• Local candidates only - current location must be clearly mentioned in the resume• Must be available for in-person interviews within 1 week of posting closure• Must be able to start within 2 weeks of offer• Security clearance/onboarding required• Candidate should be available on an as-needed basis for consultation, guidance, and advisory support
