Job Title: Mechanical DesignerLocation: Wixom, MILength of Assignment: 06 Months/ ContractNote:Schedule: M-F (7AM - 4PM)Job Description:We are seeking a Mid-to-Senior Level Mechanical Designer with strong SolidWorks experience to support the design of automated manufacturing equipment and assembly systems for the automotive industry.In this role, you will work under the direction of a Lead Mechanical Engineer to develop detailed assembly drawings and mechanical designs based on provided concepts. This is a hands-on machine/automation design position "” not a product design role.ResponsibilitiesCreate detailed mechanical and assembly drawings using SolidWorksDesign automation equipment, assembly systems, and manufacturing cellsDevelop layouts, machine components, and fabrication detailsCollaborate with Lead Mechanical Engineers to translate concepts into production-ready designsSupport automotive manufacturing and automation projectsMaintain drawing accuracy, BOMs, and documentationRequired QualificationsMid-to-Senior level Mechanical Design experienceStrong proficiency in SolidWorksExperience creating assembly drawingsBackground in automation equipment or machine designExperience designing automated systems/cells for manufacturing environmentsPreferred QualificationsAutomotive industry experienceExperience designing powertrain assembly systemsPrior experience supporting GM automation projectsFamiliarity with robotic cells, fixtures, conveyors, or custom machinery
