REPORTING TO: Supply Chain and Inventory Control ManagerGENERAL DESCRIPTION:The Supply Chain Specialist is pivotal in managing material planning and procurement activities to meet the company's operational needs. This role involves sourcing and procuring goods and services that align with quality and quantity expectations for the company. This role also works closely with the leadership team by supporting the continuous improvement of operational quality, efficiency, and profitability. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Collaborate with the Supply Chain and Inventory Control Manager to enhance supply chain processes, including material planning, warehousing, shipping, and receiving to meet both forecasted production and customer needsEnsure timely fulfillment of sales orders by managing inventory and delivery schedulesOrder materials and manage inventory to support production and customer demandsCoordinate sourcing and procurement activities to adapt to fluctuating product demandsCoordinate with R&D and Engineering for the procurement of parts and materials needed for product development and custom engineering projectsManage external processing services and address quality control issues promptlyOversee the quality inspection of incoming parts from external vendors Evaluate and negotiate supplier contracts and facilitates supplier developmentMaintain inventory control by identifying discrepancies and recommending corrective actionsAssemble kits for the Assembly departmentUtilize and maintain the ERP system effectively, and assist with physical inventory counts and reconciliationProduce standard and ad hoc reports using SAP and Excel to support decision-making and supply chain optimizationDeliver excellent customer service by responding promptly to inquiries from internal customers and vendorsPerform additional duties as assignedEDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or 7-10 years of equivalent professional experience3+ years of supply chain, logistics, or warehouse management experienceProficiency in MS Office Products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and with database managementWorking knowledge of MRP systems, SAP experience a plusStrong communication, negotiation, and organizational skillsAbility to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectivelyDetail-oriented with a strong business acumen and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
