The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that products, materials and services provided to customers meet the contractual requirements established by customers and procedures. This position also ensures that a quality program is implemented and maintained which will allow a consistent quality standard to be maintained. The Quality Manager has the authority to identify problems related to quality, correct or initiate corrective action and/or stop any work or action that violates the established quality standards.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Attendance - being on time and working each scheduled shift is a critical component of this position.Develop, maintain and administer a documented quality program that meets Nadcap, AS9100, and customer specific requirements as well as company standards.All customer and third-party quality audits.Direct, supervise and appraise the work of the quality department employees.Develop quality associates through testing and training.Provide procedures as required to support quality department objectives.Provide training to individuals whose work affects quality issues in the requirements of the Stack Metallurgical Quality system.Review customer proposals, requests for quotations and/or purchase orders, including changes, to determine quality requirements, evaluate feasibility, and ensure their input into internal planning.Interface with customers and suppliers regarding quality concerns, audits, and technical issues.Interface with other departments providing assistance, resolving problems and monitoring work affecting quality. Ensure conformance to quality program requirements through external and internal audits of all departments within the company. Use corrective action program to address deficiencies.Maintain supplier qualification to ensure their ability to perform work meeting quality standards and obtaining process approvals.Oversee engineering functions including process development, work instructions, and technical support for production.Oversee and support quality control activities.Acts as a member of the management team and perform other duties as dictated by position or required by General Manager.SKILLS:Engineering or related degrees preferred. Equivalent experience may be acceptable.Experience and practical knowledge of commercial heat treatment of aerospace alloys including steel, aluminum, titanium, nickel, brass, copper, etc. is preferred.Minimum of 3 years department management and 2 years direct supervisory experience.Familiarity with commercial (AMS, ASTM), aircraft and aerospace specifications (Nadcap, etc.), ISO, AS, QS and TS quality systems.Detailed oriented and able to meet deadlines.Knowledge of in-house computers and charting systems will be required on the job learned skill.Report for work on time, provide leadership, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow directions and accept constructive criticism.Knowledge of lean manufacturing is preferred.MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:Directly supervise 1-4 employees. Carry out manager responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints (that do not deal with harassment) and resolving problems. If a complaint of a harassing nature is brought to the manager's attention, he/she is to report it immediately to Human Resources or General Manager.QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
