Customs & Trade Compliance ManagerFarmington Hills, MISummary:Our client is a premier, global automotive supplier looking for a Customs & Trade Compliance Manager. The Customs & Compliance Manager will Ensure VC USA meets US Customs & Border Protection regulations for import and export activities and mitigate compliance and financial risks for VC USA.The Customs & Trade Compliance Manager must hold a bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field, along with a minimum of three years of experience in a comparable role.Customs & Trade Compliance Manager Job Requirements:Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or job related field from an accredited institutionAutomotive customs experience.Work experience 3 years minimum in similar role.Manufacturing, Purchasing, Legal, Logistics experience a plus.Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills with strict attention to detail.In depth knowledge of US Customs and Border Protection RegulationsKnowledge of Canadian and Mexican regulations of advantageWorking knowledge of CBP portals and websiteCertified Customs Specialist (CCS), Certified Export Specialist (CES) are preferred.Frequent travel to US plants and service provider locations.Office environment with frequent travel. Possibility to work from home.High ability for leadership and team workHighly service oriented and solution oriented attitude and hands-on problem solving mentalityVery good communication skillsHighly professional behavior and appearanceStructured working manner and analytical thinkingHigh IT and software affinity can be advantageousCustoms & Trade Compliance Manager Job Responsibilities:Manage the Customs & Trade Compliance program in the US for the purpose of mitigating risk to the company(Including classifications, valuations, training program, manuals)Assist in the development and management of the USMCA region customs broker strategy including auditing,performance monitoring, process improvement and service contract negotiation.Support on global processes (e.g. export control processes, Denied Party Screening, etc.)Conduct internal audits / self-assessments at manufacturing plants and corporate offices in the US.Develop, monitor and report on established KPIs and ACE reports.Communication with customs authorities and external service providersSupport of strategy to mitigate financial impact due to tariffs and trade barriers (e.g. section 301 duties, etc.)Manage FTA process for US Free Trade AgreementsSupport compliance in US Export ControlsWHO WE AREChoosing the Hire Road is about shared success, active and committed partnerships and relationships that last.
