Network Technician

Commercial Programming Systems, Inc. (CPS) is an Information Technology consulting and staffing company offering a broad range of services aimed at helping our clients deliver high-quality, cost-effective systems.We are currently searching for a Network Tech - Tier 1 opportunity in Dallas, Austin, or Waco, TX. We have a direct relationship with the manager and can provide qualified candidates for interviews. This is a 6 to 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. Job Description:What the team will be doing:Network refreshes at all clinicsGenerally, it consists of 1:00 and 10:00 network switches per clinic and up to 25 wireless access points.Preliminary surveys before they go in to do the network swap, where the team is going onsite to conduct a full network work audit and physical device location.The survey allows them to understand how the network was working before it broke, upgrade it, and then fix it.Contractors will go to every site to inspect before they do the installationGenerally, there will be a 3-4-week lead time from the time of the survey to the installationThis will allow the clinics to work with their internet provider and cabling contractor to address any additional changes or requirements, including installing new circuits.Duties:Network refreshes at all clinicsRack and stack network gearInstallation of AP'sData collection from Phones, PC, data ports and cabling tracing.Preliminary surveys before they go in to do the network swap, where the team is going on-site, and conducting a full network work audit and physical device location audit.The survey lets them see how the network was working before it broke, upgrade it, and then fix it.Workday:Up to 8 hrs. a day, possibly less during surveys.Will cover drivetime and mileageIdeally, one site per day, possibly two smaller ones when conducting surveysDuring installation days, we may have longer working hours, but we will not leave until the site is operational.The survey will be during clinic hoursInstallation will be after clinic hoursCommercial Programming Systems, Inc.
