This role manages driver communication, load planning, equipment utilization, safety compliance, and customer service while driving operational performance and efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain strong professional relationships with drivers to support retention and performanceSchedule and assign loads efficiently to maximize service and equipment utilizationMonitor and update dispatch systems in real timeCommunicate proactively with customers regarding load status and service issuesCoordinate effectively with drivers, operations staff, and terminal leadershipPromote and enforce all company safety initiatives, including the Target Zero programMonitor driver performance metrics including MPG, idle time, safety, and complianceProcess driver paperwork accurately and in a timely mannerTrack equipment status, maintenance needs, and operational reportingEnsure compliance with DOT regulations and company operating proceduresMaintain a positive, solutions-focused work environmentSupport emergency operational needs as requiredQualificationsStrong leadership, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced transportation environmentIntermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office, internet, and emailExperience with TMW, TMT, Samsara, or other transportation/logging systems preferredStrong understanding of dispatch operations, equipment allocation, and driver managementKnowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety standardsExperience & EducationMinimum of 5 years of transportation, dispatch, or terminal management experience preferredTanker industry experience is highly preferredEquivalent combination of education and industry experience will be consideredWork Environment & ScheduleOffice and terminal-based positionAverage workweek of 45-50 hoursMust be available after hours for operational emergenciesMost weekends off, with occasional weekend availability as neededPerformance ExpectationsSuccess in this role will be measured by:On-time pickup and delivery performanceDriver satisfaction and retentionSafety and regulatory complianceEffective equipment utilization and maintenance oversightAccurate dispatch management and reportingAdherence to company policies and standard operating procedures
