Senior Systems Engineer - Boston, MA (Hybrid) - $145,000 - $165,000We're partnering with a well-established professional services organization in Boston to hire a Senior Systems Engineer to join their infrastructure team.This is a senior, hands-on position with responsibility for designing, supporting, and evolving a Microsoft-centric hybrid environment. The role covers Windows Server (2019-2025), Active Directory, Azure, M365, Hyper-V, storage, security controls, disaster recovery, and enterprise monitoring. You'll act as the most senior technical resource on a team of five and serve as an escalation point and mentor to other engineers.The environment includes on-prem and Azure infrastructure, Hyper-V clusters, storage (SAN/NAS), backup and DR solutions, and a strong focus on security, reliability, and documentation. PowerShell scripting and automation experience is expected, along with the ability to lead incident response and infrastructure improvements.This role requires a bachelor's degree and 8-10+ years of experience in Microsoft-based enterprise environments. Must-have experience includes Active Directory (including Sites and Services), DNS, Hyper-V, Windows Server, and storage administration. Experience in legal or financial services environments is a plus, as is strong communication and stakeholder engagement.This is not a stepping-stone role. The successful candidate will be a senior, self-sufficient engineer with the potential to step into broader leadership responsibilities over time.
