Senior Software Engineer

Title: Software EngineerLocation: Dayton, OH 45424 OnsiteEmployment Type: 7+ Month W2 Contract to Hire (No C2C or Sponsorship Available)OverviewTalent Groups is seeking a Software Engineer to support the development of real time embedded guidance, navigation, and control systems within a highly technical engineering environment. This role is ideal for candidates with strong C++ and MATLAB/Simulink experience who enjoy solving complex engineering challenges and working on advanced embedded software systems.The ideal candidate will have experience developing software for real time embedded products using object oriented programming and model based development methodologies. This individual will work closely with software developers, test engineers, and domain experts to build and integrate high quality software solutions in a collaborative engineering environment.Key Responsibilities• Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and debug software enhancements and new product functionality • Develop and maintain object oriented and MATLAB/Simulink based projects • Collaborate with developers and test engineers to integrate Guidance, Navigation, and Control software into larger systems • Develop data processing tools to support development and deployment efforts • Identify and create test cases to maintain high software quality standards • Write clean, maintainable, and well documented code • Work closely with application domain experts within established engineering processes • Support additional engineering and development initiatives as neededRequired Experience• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field • At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated results • Strong proficiency in C++ and MATLAB/Simulink • Experience developing real time embedded software products • Experience with object oriented programming and model based software development • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and logical reasoning skills • Experience with Git or similar version control tools • Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaborate with local and global teams • Ability to troubleshoot complex software issues across multiple layers of the software stackPreferred Qualifications• Experience supporting Guidance, Navigation, and Control systems • Knowledge of linear algebra and software engineering best practices • Experience with Angular and JavaScript for UI integration is a plusTalent Groups appreciates all applicants but will only contact those who meet the interview requirements.
