Note: This role includes up to 50% travel. A leading building automation and controls integrator is expanding its team in Chantilly, VA to support a growing portfolio of data center and critical infrastructure projects.This role focuses on controls upgrades, troubleshooting, and commissioning support across complex BMS and EPMS systems, working in high-performance environments where reliability and uptime are critical.If you enjoy hands-on problem solving, working with live systems, and supporting commissioning in fast-paced projects, this is a strong opportunity to take on technically challenging work.What You'll Be DoingYou'll play a key role in diagnosing, improving, and delivering automation systems across data center environments.Key responsibilities include:Troubleshooting and resolving complex BMS and EPMS system issuesSupporting controls upgrades and system improvementsWorking alongside project teams during commissioning and functional testingDeveloping and modifying control logic from sequences of operationActing as a technical resource for field teams and project stakeholdersSupporting startup, validation, and system optimisation activitiesParticipating in service work, maintenance, and on-call support as neededWhat We're Looking ForWe're looking for hands-on controls engineers who are comfortable working across automation systems, troubleshooting, and commissioning environments.Ideal candidates will have:Experience with BMS, BAS, or EPMS systemsStrong background in controls engineering, automation, or SCADAAbility to troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, or industrial control systemsExperience with PLC programming, HMI/SCADA platforms, or building automation systemsUnderstanding of control logic and sequences of operationExperience supporting commissioning, startup, or field troubleshootingExposure to platforms such as Ignition, Niagara, Rockwell, Siemens, or Schneider is beneficial.Why This Role?Work on data center and critical infrastructure projectsSolve complex, real-world automation challengesBlend of hands-on field work and technical problem solvingOpportunity to grow into technical specialist or leadership rolesWork across both project delivery and live system environments
